The only criteria are the desire and the ability to contribute to our efforts. Not all our members perform on stage. We are privileged to have a first class stage crew, a prestigious front of house team and other non-performing folk.
Naturally, though, most of our members want to perform, singing, acting, dancing or all three. Prospective singing members are asked to sing a few lines to establish that they can sing in tune and which vocal section they should join.
If you're interested in possibly joining the Society, we recommend that you arrange to visit us at a regular rehearsal to see what it's all about. Contact the secretary so that we can expect you, and ensure you know where and when the rehearsal is taking place. (Our regular rehearsal night for the whole company is Monday. Principals rehearse Thursday.)
New singing members are asked to sing some notes to convince the MD that they can sing in tune and so that he can place them in the appropriate section.
We apply strict rules on the auditioning for principal parts and only fully paid up members adhering to them may audition.
